Alps Alpine's slide switches achieve high contact reliability while also supporting compact, low-profile designs, for example with the industry's thinnest models. We offer an extensive lineup of other varieties, too. Here we introduce the features of Alps Alpine slide switches.
High Contact Reliability
Self-Cleaning with Sliding (Wiping) Contacts
All Alps Alpine slide switches employ a sliding (wiping) contact structure with self-cleaning effects that ensure high contact reliability.

Supporting Smaller, Thinner Designs
We supply a variety of models supporting smaller, thinner designs for incorporation into mobile devices, as typified by smartphones and headsets.

Extensive Variety
Variations in Numbers of Poles and Throws (Positions)
The circuit configuration of a switch is represented by the number of circuits and the number of contacts. Notation for switches used with very small currents is "x-pole, x-position."

The number of circuits, or poles, that a switch can control is also written as "xP," and the number of contacts, or "throws," that can be controlled simultaneously is also written as "xT."
Non-Shorting Types
Non-shorting types are also available. "Non-shorting" indicates that electrical connections between terminals are momentarily broken to prevent a short circuit, especially in reference to switching between circuits.

Alps Alpine Slide Switch Variations

Recoiling Types
A recoiling type is one whose lever stays at the extent it has been operated sideways only while held and returns to its initial position when released.

Alps Alpine supplies slide switches with wide-ranging variations of operating direction, travel and other parameters.
