Alps Alpine Detector Switch Varieties

Alps Alpine supplies a diverse range of detector switches. Here we introduce a number of varieties, including normally closed types, types supporting three-way operation, two-step detection types and solderless types with a connector terminal.

Normally Closed Detector Switches

In a lot of switches, the contact usually closes when the lever is pushed, but there are also switches that switch off when the lever is pushed. The former are "normally open," the latter "normally closed" types. For example, normally closed types are used for detecting the opening and closing of lids or doors on mobile devices, electrical vehicles or other equipment for which a reduction in power consumption is sought.

Detector Switches Supporting Normally Closed Circuits

3-Way Operation Type SPVL Series

The SPVL Series can detect operation in three directions – vertically, left and right – as a single switch. Here we explain the contact structure and operating principle.

Two-Way, Two-Step Type SSCQ Series

The SSCQ Series allows two-step detection in both directions.

SSCW and SSCL Series with Connector Terminal

SSCW and SSCL Series have a connector terminal (female), allowing connection simply by inserting the terminal (solderless).
