Sensors

The time that a sensor is measuring a given physical quantity

Please refer to testing conditions and time under information on testing in specifications for each sensor.

I2C.

Using the piezoresistive effect. Our pressure sensors use the change in piezoresistance caused by application of pressure to a silicon diaphragm.

They are adjusted to within the specification range using calibration equipment at the time of shipment.
They cannot be calibrated while in use.

An estimate, based on accelerated testing, is 7 years.
Accelerated testing conditions: 85°C/85%/240hrs.
Envisaged conditions of use: 30°C/60%.

The products are not waterproof on their own. They need to be included in a waterproof structure incorporating the end product.

Waterproof Type Pressure Sensor HSPPAD143A can measure air pressure and water depth within the pressure measurement range (300-2100hPa). For example, if the air pressure is 1000hPa, a water depth equivalent to 1100hPa (approx. 10m) can be measured since the maximum pressure measurement is 2100hPa.

Monocrystalline silicon.

One time programmable ROM
One-time programmable ROM, for recording the correction value.

Yes, they can.

They are affected by the climate (air pressure) when measuring atmospheric pressure.

No, they do not.

Absolute accuracy is a measure of deviation from a reference standard value. Relative accuracy is a measure of deviation of change in pressure. For example, when the sensor output is 1001hPa whereas the reference pressure is 1000hPa, absolute accuracy is 1hPa. And when the change in sensor output is 11hPa whereas the actual change of pressure in an environment is 10hPa, relative accuracy is 1hPa.

Alps Alpine pressure sensors measure absolute pressure. Absolute pressure is the level of pressure itself. Gauge pressure is the difference compared to atmospheric pressure (absolute pressure).

Structurally speaking, it can be used.
Structures with pre-tension applied, like explained in the section "Design Guide for stylus-pen" on page 9 of the datasheet for Force Sensor HSFPAR003A, are envisaged.

Our force sensors produce analog voltage output and so we do not specify sensor resolution. If you are converting to digital, resolution will depend on analog-to-digital converter performance.

Please use a sufficiently hard material.
*SUS440C is recommended.

Performance cannot be guaranteed. Please use within the specified operating range.

Output voltage varies with load (mV/N) and is also dependent on power voltage, which we express as the unit "mV/V/N."
