Transportation Status Visualization Service

A solution that aims to facilitate improvements to processes where congestion occurs due to pallets or other logistics assets not being returned and to fix asset shortages and surpluses. Long-life tracking devices achieving both environmental resistance and positioning accuracy are simply attached to pallets, roll cages and stackable kegs to allow visualization of their location and movements and accurate tracking of asset movements even after entry to, or release from, warehouses. This helps to streamline management of logistics operations and reduce logistics costs.

High-Accuracy Positioning

We present a proposal for high-accuracy positioning based on a Bluetooth® module system envisaged for integration into devices like smartphones. Bluetooth® modules are today found in all kinds of devices. Bluetooth® modules made by Alps Alpine can be used to enable not only communication functions, but also measurement of positional data. The commercialization process is underway with a view to creating an entry system for automobiles. The technology can then be broadly deployed to other domains, including industrial equipment and IoT markets.

5G Communication Terminal

Alps Alpine puts forward a communication terminal for the up-and-coming local 5G market, equipping it with a highly dependable 5G Communication Module developed for automotive use. High robustness is realized due to outstanding environmental resilience in terms of long life and resistance to heat, humidity and vibrations. Used outdoors with links to sensors, the terminal enables various kinds of data transmission over a limited area taking advantage of the characteristic low latency, mass connectivity and high communication speeds of 5G. Data can be used to deliver additional value in a broad range of sectors, including smart factories, construction sites, logistics, infrastructure, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, and smart cities.

GNSS Tracker

GNSS Trackers make it possible to create fleet management systems that locate vehicles in real time, unaffected by the driving or parking environment, and enable visualization of vehicle circumstances, such as dangerous driving, through links to onboard sensors. The product is easily fitted to a vehicle and allows acquisition and transmission of position information even when removed. Facilitating fleet management based on high-accuracy positioning contributes to greater work efficiency, while use of an original algorithm to monitor traveled routes helps to reduce communication charges.

Remote Analog Meter Monitoring

Analog meters already installed in plants and buildings can be incorporated into a remote monitoring system to enable real-time checks of meter readings via an original application. This involves using a magnetic sensor to measure the movements of meter pointers, sending the data to a cloud using low-power wide area (LPWA) wireless communication technology, and calculating meter readings within a single cloud environment. Designed for retrofitting to already installed meters, systems can be installed at low cost and enable high-accuracy measurement with better energy and space efficiency and environmental independence than camera-based systems. A lower workload from not having to take meter readings in person and fewer visual reading and transcription errors support efforts to improve operational efficiency.
